This is work I did with an 11th and 10th grade class. The document,
Group Work, was given to the class before reading the poem. The poem and the
additional work pages were then done. A comparison was made between the song
and the poem in terms of style and contents. I also worked on writing a
report and the pupils had to write a newspaper article on Cory. It went
well. Pupils can also go to the Internet to find out about the poet, poem or
find an article related to the contents of the poem.
