In groups of 4, tell each other about the character you chose to discuss and why you chose to discuss him or her.

Individually, write down information about your character.
Focus on: 1. What your character says or thinks.
2. What the author says about the character.
3. Does your book have a narrator?
4. If so, are the author and the narrator the same
person? Is the author a character in the book?
5. What do the other characters think or say
about your character?

H.W.: 1. What is your character like?
2. What does s/he look like?
3. How does s/he act?
4. Copy a few sentences from your book that
describe your character.
5. Does the book have a picture of your
character?
6. If so, does it live up to your expectations?

For next week: be prepared to write about the setting.

Put your story into chronological order

• Something happens (usually to the main character/s)
• Something changes (i.e. a dramatic change in their lives; someone's death, someone moves to live somewhere else, someone is in danger, etc.)

1. What are the changes in your story and to whom
do they happen?
2. What is the conflict?
3. What is the climax? Where and when does it
happen? Copy a few sentences which illustrate
(show) the climax.
4. Which characters are directly involved in the
climax?

Next week be prepared to discuss your opinion.
