ETNI - the English Teachers Network in Israel on the Internet - was founded by David Lloyd in 1996. For many years, Gail Mann (who is presently running the English Ministry website) co-managed the ETNI site together with David. We thank her for all of her invaluable help. David continues to manage the ETNI site.
The aim of ETNI is provide an English Teachers network on the Internet which serves both as an English teachers professional support group (both by teachers and for teachers)and helps teachers work with the Internet in their classroom.
ETNI is a grassroots organization run entirely by volunteers. You can access its website at two different servers:
ETNI is constantly developing and reinventing itself as a "Virtual Educational Community" where teachers discuss pedagogical issues through the ETNI mailing list and contribute their ideas and experience to the ETNI website. No wonder that other subject areas in the Israeli educational teaching community have turned to ETNI to learn how to create similar models for their teachers.
